2.1. The House Rules apply to any person who enters the premises of NUA Pilates Studio, uses its services, or uses the Studio’s equipment.

2.2. By using the services of NUA Pilates Studio, the Guest declares that they have read and understood the House Rules and agree to be bound by their provisions.

2.3. The House Rules shall apply in conjunction with the NUA Pilates Studio’s General Terms and Conditions (GTC) in force at all times.

Where there is any discrepancy between the provisions of the House Rules and the GTC, the provisions of the GTC shall prevail with regard to the contractual relationship between the Guest and the Service Provider.

  1. Entry to and Stay at the Studio

3.1. The Guest is permitted to enter and remain on the Studio premises in connection with the service they are using and solely for the purpose of using that service as intended.

3.2. The Guest must use the Studio’s premises, facilities and equipment for their intended purposes and refrain from any conduct that:

  1. a) may endanger the physical safety or well-being of another person;
    b) may unreasonably disturb another Guest’s workout or rest;
    c) may damage the Studio’s facilities or equipment;
    d) is incompatible with the order or intended purpose of the Studio.

3.3. All Guests in the Studio must respect the person, privacy and peace of the instructors, staff and other Guests.

  1. Arrival for Classes

4.1. The Guest must arrive at the class in sufficient time to be changed and properly prepared for the workout by the advertised start time.

4.2. For the first visit, it is recommended to arrive at least 10–15 minutes before the class starts to allow sufficient time for the necessary information to be provided, to familiarise yourself with the Studio, and to receive an introduction to the basic rules for using the Reformer machine.

4.3. The class starts promptly at the advertised start time.

Late arrival:

  • may disrupt the workout of other Guests;
  • may prevent proper warm-up;
  • may interfere with the safe adjustment of the Reformer machine;
  • may increase the risk of injury.

4.4. The instructor reserves the right to refuse participation to a Guest who arrives late if, in the instructor’s judgement, it is no longer possible for the Guest to join the class safely.

The consequences of late arrival shall be governed by the provisions of the GTC.

  1. Attire and Hygiene

5.1. Clean, comfortable sportswear that allows for unrestricted movement is required during classes.

5.2. For the safe and hygienic use of the Reformer machines, wearing clean socks with non-slip soles is mandatory during Reformer Pilates classes at the Studio.

Guests may not participate in the class without non-slip socks.

The Studio reserves the right to refuse participation to a Guest who does not have appropriate non-slip socks. If participation is prevented for this reason, the session shall be settled in accordance with the provisions of the GTC applicable to late arrival, no-show and circumstances preventing participation attributable to the Guest.

5.3. It is prohibited to enter the Studio premises wearing outdoor shoes. It is also strictly prohibited to step onto or use the Reformer machines while wearing outdoor shoes.

5.4. Keeping the Reformer machine and the equipment used during the class clean is a shared responsibility.

The Guest must follow the instructor’s instructions regarding the cleaning and disinfection of the equipment used after the class.

  1. Basic Health Requirements

6.1. Reformer Pilates is a form of physical exercise. Guests may participate in classes only if they are in a state of health that allows them to safely engage in the chosen form of exercise.

6.2. Before the start of the class, the Guest must inform the instructor of any known condition that may materially affect the safe performance of the exercises and which is necessary for the instructor to be aware of in order to conduct the class safely.

Such circumstances may include, in particular:

  • existing or recent injury;
  • surgery or post-operative rehabilitation;
  • significant musculoskeletal condition;
  • spinal or joint condition;
  • a cardiovascular or respiratory condition that may be significant in relation to physical exertion;
  • a tendency towards dizziness, fainting or loss of balance;
  • pregnancy;
  • the postpartum period;
  • any other circumstance that may limit the Guest’s physical ability to exercise.

6.3. A Guest cannot be expected to make a specialist medical assessment of their own health condition.

If, however, the Guest is aware of any illness, injury or other health condition that may affect the safety of participating in physical exercise, they must seek the advice of an appropriate healthcare professional before starting the workout.

6.4. The instructor does not provide medical diagnoses, and any exercise guidance or movement correction instructions provided by the instructor do not constitute medical, physiotherapy or other healthcare advice.

6.5. Participation in classes is prohibited if the Guest has a fever, a contagious or acute illness, or is otherwise in a condition that clearly prevents them from safely engaging in physical exercise.

The Studio reserves the right to refuse participation to any Guest whose condition may pose a risk to their own health or safety or to that of other Guests.

  1. Pregnancy and the postpartum period;

7.1. For the safety of both the Guest and the fetus, the Guest must inform the instructor of their pregnancy before the start of the class.

7.2. The Studio reserves the right to determine which types of classes may be attended during pregnancy and under what conditions.

The instructor reserves the right to modify certain exercises, replace them with alternative exercises, or omit them altogether.

7.3. If, due to the Guest’s pregnancy, its course, or any known health condition, the safety of physical exertion is in question, the Studio reserves the right to request proof of medical clearance and, in the absence thereof, to refuse participation.

7.4. When determining when to return to exercise following childbirth, the Guest must take into account their own health condition and the recommendations of the healthcare professional overseeing their care.

  1. Following the Instructor’s Instructions

8.1. The Reformer Pilates class is led by the instructor.

The Guest must comply with the instructor’s safety and professional instructions.

8.2. The instructor is entitled to:

  1. a) modify an exercise for the Guest;
    b) require a smaller range of motion or different resistance;
    c) prohibit the performance of a particular exercise;
    d) interrupt an exercise;
    e) refuse to allow the workout to continue where necessary,

if the instructor considers this necessary for the safety of the Guest or any other person.

8.3. The Guest must inform the instructor if they do not understand an instruction or are unsure whether they are performing a particular exercise correctly.

In case of uncertainty, the Guest must not begin or continue the exercise independently.

  1. General Rules for the Use of Reformer Machines

9.1. Reformer machines are exercise equipment featuring specialised moving components, a spring-based resistance system and adjustable elements.

Improper use may result in injury.

9.2. The Guest may use the Reformer machine only under the guidance and instruction of the instructor.

9.3. The machine must not be used independently before or during the class, for playing, or for any purpose other than the workout.

9.4. The Guest may not, at their own discretion, perform any exercise for which the instructor has not provided instructions.

This rule also applies if the Guest is already familiar with the exercise from previous classes, other studios, or online content.

  1. Use of the Carriage (Moving Platform)

10.1. The Reformer’s moving carriage may move depending on the resistance provided by the springs.

The Guest must be mindful of the movement of the carriage whenever getting on or off the Reformer.

10.2. Getting on and off the carriage may only be done in the manner instructed by the instructor.

10.3. In particular, the following are prohibited:

  1. a) step onto a carriage that is not properly secured;
    b) get onto or off the machine by running, using momentum or jumping, unless expressly instructed by the instructor as part of a specific exercise;
    c) place a hand, foot or any other part of the body between the moving carriage and the machine frame;
    d) intentionally obstruct the movement of the carriage.

  1. Springs and Resistance Adjustment

11.1. The Reformer springs may be under significant mechanical tension. Improper handling of the springs may result in a risk of injury.

11.2. The Guest may only adjust the spring resistance in accordance with the instructor’s specific instructions.

11.3. When adjusting the springs, the Guest must:

  • ensure that the carriage is in a stable position;
  • grip the spring at the designated handle or attachment point;
  • ensure that their fingers, clothing or any other object do not get caught between moving or connecting parts;
  • securely attach the spring to the appropriate attachment point.

11.4. The spring must not be intentionally overstretched, pulled sideways, or used improperly.

11.5. If the Guest is unsure about the correct spring setting, they must ask the instructor for assistance.

  1. Footbar, Shoulder Rest, Headrest and Other Adjustable Components

12.1. The settings of the Footbar, Headrest, Shoulder Rest and other adjustable components may only be changed in accordance with the instructor’s instructions.

12.2. Before starting the exercise, the Guest must ensure that the relevant component is properly secured.

12.3. It is prohibited to place body weight on any component that is not securely fixed in place.

12.4. If any component moves unusually, appears loose, makes an abnormal noise, or there is any doubt regarding its proper operation, the exercise must be stopped and the instructor must be notified immediately.

  1. Use of Straps, Ropes and Loops

13.1. The Reformer straps, ropes, hand loops and foot loops may only be used in the manner specified by the instructor.

13.2. The Guest must hold or position the straps and loops securely and in accordance with the requirements of the exercise.

13.3. The sudden release of a tensioned strap, rope or loop is strictly prohibited, as it may cause injury or damage to the equipment due to recoil.

13.4. If a strap, rope or connection appears damaged, worn or otherwise unusual, its use must be discontinued immediately and the instructor must be notified.

  1. Exercises Involving Standing, Kneeling and Balance Positions

14.1. Exercises performed standing, kneeling or in other unstable positions on the moving carriage require increased attention.

14.2. The Guest may begin such an exercise only in accordance with the instructor’s instructions.

14.3. The Guest must adapt the exercise to their own abilities and current condition. If the exercise feels uncertain, unstable or too difficult, they must notify the instructor immediately.

14.4. Using a modified or lower-intensity version of an exercise suggested by the instructor is not a performance assessment, but rather part of safe and personalised training.

  1. Pain and Discomfort During Exercise

15.1. Muscle engagement and physical exertion during Pilates exercises may be natural, but sharp or unusual pain must not be ignored.

15.2. The Guest must immediately inform the instructor if, during the workout, they experience: sharp or unusual pain; dizziness; nausea; difficulty breathing; chest discomfort; numbness; visual disturbances; weakness or a feeling of faintness; or any other concerning symptom.

15.3. In such cases, the Guest must immediately stop the exercise.

15.4. The instructor is entitled to prohibit further participation and, where necessary, initiate appropriate assistance or emergency medical care.

  1. Damaged or Defective Equipment

16.1. If the Guest notices any damage, malfunction, abnormal operation or unusual noise on the Reformer machine or any other equipment, they must immediately discontinue use and notify the instructor.

16.2. The Guest must not continue using any equipment they believe to be damaged or defective and must not attempt to repair or adjust it themselves.

16.3. The instructor or a member of the Studio staff is entitled to take the affected machine out of service.

  1. Rules to Follow in the Event of an Accident

17.1. In the event of an accident, injury or sudden illness, the Guest must immediately notify the instructor or a member of the Studio staff.

17.2. The Guest must reasonably cooperate in clarifying and documenting the circumstances of the accident.

17.3. The Studio is entitled to prepare a written report of any accident or extraordinary incident.

17.4. If necessary, the Studio will call an ambulance or other emergency assistance.

The Guest acknowledges that, in an urgent medical situation, the Studio’s primary concern is to protect the health and physical safety of the person concerned.

  1. Phones and Electronic Devices

18.1. To ensure a calm and undisturbed workout environment, Guests are kindly requested to keep their mobile phones on silent or muted mode during the class.

18.2. Phone calls are not permitted in the workout area during class, except in emergencies.

18.3. The Guest’s use of their own device to take photographs or video recordings must not disrupt the class, and any other person may only appear in such recordings in an identifiable manner with that person’s consent.

18.4. The instructor is entitled to prohibit recording if it interferes with the class, the privacy of other Guests, or safe exercise.

  1. Food and Beverages

19.1. Unless otherwise specified by the Studio, only water or other permitted beverages in sealed bottles may be brought into the workout area.

19.2. Open cups or beverages that can easily spill must not be placed near the Reformer machines.

19.3. Eating is not permitted in the workout area.

  1. Alcohol, Drugs and Conditions Affecting Safe Exercise

20.1. The use of the Studio’s services is prohibited while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other substance that may materially impair coordination, reaction time, alertness, or judgment.

20.2. The instructor is entitled to refuse participation to a Guest whose condition reasonably indicates that safe participation in the workout cannot be ensured.

  1. Personal Belongings

21.1. The Guest must store their personal belongings in the designated area.

21.2. Large bags, coats or other bulky items must not be left next to the Reformer machines or in walkways.

21.3. The Guest is responsible for safeguarding any valuables brought into the Studio.

The Service Provider’s liability shall be governed by the provisions of the GTC.

  1. Protection of Studio Equipment

22.1. The Guest must use the Studio’s machines, equipment, furniture and other facilities for their intended purposes.

22.2. The Guest shall compensate for any damage caused intentionally or through circumstances attributable to the Guest, in particular by violating the House Rules or the instructor’s instructions.

22.3. The Guest shall not be liable for normal wear and tear resulting from proper use.

  1. Children and Accompanying Persons

23.1. Only persons participating in the class may be present in the Studio’s workout area, unless the Studio has given prior consent.

23.2. Due to the moving and spring-loaded components of the Reformer machines, children may not remain in the workout area without supervision.

23.3. Children may not be brought to the class without the Studio’s prior permission.

23.4. The participation of minors in Pilates classes shall be governed by the provisions of the GTC and the Studio’s specific rules applicable to minors.

  1. Pets

Except for assistance dogs recognised as such under applicable law, pets may only be brought into the Studio’s workout area with the Studio’s prior permission.

  1. Ensuring a Calm and Undisturbed Class Environment

25.1. The Guest must refrain from any conduct that unreasonably disrupts another Guest’s concentration or the instructor’s work.

25.2. Questions may of course be asked during the class and are encouraged, particularly when they relate to the correct or safe performance of an exercise.

25.3. The Studio expects Guests to communicate with one another respectfully. Harassing, aggressive, intimidating, offensive or discriminatory behaviour is not permitted.

  1. Exclusion from a Class

26.1. The instructor is entitled to refuse the Guest’s continued participation in the class if the Guest:

  1. a) fails to comply with the instructor’s safety instructions;
    b) endangers their own or another person’s physical safety;
    c) repeatedly or seriously uses the equipment for an improper purpose;
    d) seriously disrupts the conduct of the class;
    e) is under the influence of alcohol or another psychoactive substance;
    f) attempts to exercise in a health condition in which safe participation is clearly not possible; or
    g) otherwise seriously violates the House Rules.

26.2. In the event of a serious or repeated violation of the rules, the Service Provider reserves the right to restrict the Guest’s future bookings or refuse further use of the services.

The settlement of any fees shall be governed by the provisions of the GTC.

  1. Responsible Participation

27.1. The Studio and the instructor are responsible for providing a professionally appropriate and safe training environment and for properly instructing Guests in the performance of each exercise.

The following is therefore expected of the Guest:

  • monitoring their own current physical condition;
  • disclosing relevant health conditions;
  • following the instructor’s instructions;
  • respecting their own physical limits;
  • immediately reporting any pain or discomfort;
  • using the equipment for its intended purpose.

27.2. The Guest is not required to perform any exercise that they do not feel is safe or about which they are uncertain.

In such cases, the Guest must inform the instructor, who will, where possible, offer a modified or alternative exercise.

  1. Violation of the House Rules and Causing Damage

28.1. The Guest shall be liable, in accordance with applicable laws and the GTC, for any consequences arising from violation of the House Rules, failure to comply with the instructor’s instructions, or improper use of the equipment.

28.2. The House Rules do not limit or exclude any liability of the Service Provider that may not lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

  1. Amendment of the House Rules

29.1. The Service Provider reserves the right to amend the House Rules in consideration of operational experience, the equipment used, changes to the services, safety requirements, or changes in applicable laws.

29.2. The current version of the House Rules is available at the Studio and/or on the Studio’s electronic platform.

  1. Final Provisions

30.1. For matters not regulated by the House Rules, the NUA Pilates Studio General Terms and Conditions and the provisions of applicable Hungarian law shall apply.

30.2. By using the services, the Guest acknowledges that compliance with the provisions of these House Rules serves not only to maintain the orderly operation of the Studio, but above all to ensure the safety of the Guests.

30.3. The Studio encourages Guests to consult the instructor whenever they have any concerns, health issues, questions regarding the use of the equipment, or notice anything unusual, and, for safety reasons, not to attempt to resolve such situations on their own.
